Sellers original description:

1929 Avon Standard Special number 3.

Extremely rare vintage motor car.

Registered in 1929 and possibly the earliest exisiting Avon bodied car.

The Special number 3 was the first car designed by Alan Jensen (founder of Jensen cars). The Avon motor company was based in Warwick and built specialist bodies onto Standard chassis.

This car was known to the Standard club in 1967 when it was owned by a Doctor.

It was totally restored in the late 1980's and dry stored since.

I have spoken to the restorer who informed me that every nut and bolt was renewed. A brand new alluminium body was made (exactly to the original specification) and the engine rebuilt, interior retrimmed. There are photos available (currently with the restorer). Please see black and white picture of how an Avon Special looked in 1930.

Current V5 log book present.

The car starts and sounds fine.

I would say the car is 99% perfect. there are a couple of slight paint chips and a mark on the body where the hood rests.

The underside has also been finished to a very high standard.
