Sellers original description:

1978 (1977 model ) Cadillac Fleetwood Eldorado, 1 USA owner from new, 14,000 miles

A stunning 1 owner, low mileage example which is without question one of the best examples in the Uk and quite possibly one of the best un-restored, original examples available anywhere. We have had some very eye catching cars in our time but we have never had people stop in the street, reach for their mobile phones and take pictures as you drive by ! Just standing near the car is an event, the sheer size and visual drama cannot be conveyed by the camera, this is a rare and very attractive vehicle, full of character and really must be seen to be fully appreciated.

The car was a Christmas gift to the first owner from his Brother in Law who owned the Braman Cadillac dealership in Miami, Florida - the car still bears the Braman Cadillac dealer plate and window sticker ! The elderly gentleman drove it very rarely, the car spending most of it's time in the garage until his passing in 1995. The gentleman's Widow did not have a driving license so the car then stood in the garage unused until this year when it was discovered with only 10,000 miles on the clock ! The car was then fully re-commissioned to include 4 new tyres, full new exhaust system and catalyst, new brakes all round, new brake fluid and master cylinder, engine oil and filter change, new fuel and air filter, new water pump, new copper radiator and heater matrix, new spark plugs and leads, new headlamps, new hydraulic hoses plus a few other odds and ends to make the car perfect. The car was then driven 2500 miles across the USA to California, cruising between 70 and 80mph and averaging 17 mpg before being shipped to the Uk. It has since covered a further 1500 miles in the Uk and has been totally trouble free throughout this time.

The condition of the car really is exceptional, there is no rust or corrosion whatsoever and it is just as good underneath as it is above. In the metal the car is absolutely stunning and has the appearance of a 12 month old vehicle not a car which is 36 years old, there is barely a blemish to be found anywhere on the bodywork. The story continues inside where there is minimal signs of use, exactly as you would expect with such low mileage. The original Cadillac carpet mats are present as well as the original rubber floor mats with Cadillac emblems. The car still has the original Braman Cadillac dealer sticker on the OUTSIDE of the front windscreen and these stickers generally do not stay put for very long, testament to how little use the car has had. The car has never been smoked in, all four cigar lighters remain unused. The car is unusual in that it was specified without the Landaulette rear Vinyl roof which is typical of this model.

Initially we were slightly daunted at the prospect of driving such a large, left hand drive car but our fears were very quickly allayed. The car drives beautifully, exactly as you would expect from such a low mileage example, wafting along the road gracefully and effortlessly, the steering finger light, the ride smooth and controlled, the seats comfortable and cosseting, in fact the car is totally relaxing and an absolute joy to be at the wheel. The 7.0 litre V8 engine is silent and smooth, at motorway cruising speeds there is no mechanical noise whatsoever only a little wind noise intruding around the door pillars giving any impression of speed. This is among the smoothest, sweetest and quietest V8 engined cars we have ever driven. Incidentally, the car cruises effortlessly at or beyond the Uk legal limit, easily keeping up with modern traffic and is reasonably frugal on fuel.

For your interest, the car is 224 inches long, 80 inches wide, weighs 4900 pounds and holds 27 gallons of fuel !

Finished in beautiful two tone Green and Cream, period specification to include air conditioning, electric seats, electric windows, central locking, soft close boot, original period radio with electric aerial etc.

Supplied with all four original Keys, original Owners Manuals etc.

The car now has a UK MOT and is ready to be registered to it's first UK owner - all import duties have been paid and the original Michigan title is present.

The car will come fully prepared in our own workshops. Interesting part exchange considered.

Pictures taken on a dull, overcast day do not do this stunning car justice.
