Sellers original description:

1967 Ford Mustang Fastback GT-390 S Code- 4V- Genuine Big Block.

Originally ordered on 27th October, 1966 from Norwalk-Connecticut Ford Dealer complete with a four-speed manual transmission, 3:25 limited slip differential, courtesy light group, fold down rear seat, centre console, AM radio, exterior décor group and finished in Lime Gold Paint (Ford2041-A), this astonishing example has just finished a full 1 year bare-metal restoration.

Every part, including all nuts and bolts, has been removed and either replaced or restored back to correct factory specification. The interior is completely brand new with all the correct parts, even a fully restored and working AM radio. Under the bonnet can be found a date coded 1966, Ford 390ci GT engine with the Shelby Police Interceptor cylinder heads, the correct four barrel intake manifold with GT exhaust manifolds (aluminium thermal coated), the original GT cam shaft and the correct date coded Autoline carburettor and distributor.

The engine bay itself is completely standard with all ancillaries straight off the shelf. The four- speed Toploader transmission is reported to be fully functioning through all the gears as is the new clutch and flywheel. The 9” Daytona rear end has been stripped down and restored with all new and correct bearings and gears. The front suspension has also received a complete overhaul in the same vein as the rest of the car, with Scotts Drake Concours upper and lower arms and front power disc brakes, again stripped down, sand-blasted and rebuilt. All the glass around the car is original with matching new mouldings. This slavish attention to detail continues underneath the car with a full strip down including fuel lines, brake lines, and handbrake assembly with 3M Body Shutz used to protect it from the elements.

The engine and transmission was rebuilt by a recognised Ford specialist with over 30 years of experience to his credit. The genuine Shelby & GT transverse exhaust system (it’s not a proper GT without one!) was shipped from the US with the rest of the parts and installed by specialists, Torque Exhaust, in London. This beautifully presented example was originally ordered with the GT Exterior Décor appointment option and was the only way you could get the ribbed hand-cast aluminium rear tail valance as an addition. Accompanying the car is the original order sheet from Marti Report, the original Buck Tag still intact and screwed on the inner wing as well as a new door tag, again ordered from the Marti website.

Fully up and running, this immaculate muscle car really does sound as good as it looks!
