Mk1 Escort rally car, this car was built with absoultly no expence spared and was supject to a 4 page feature in the summer 2012 classic Ford and later displayed on the classic Ford stand at ford fair 2012, a brief spec is as follows:

All parts when fitted were either new or properly reconditioned and zinc plated or powder coated as required this includes the engine, the car has coved less than 500 miles since completion.

All major panels replaced including, front panel, slam panel, inner front panel, lower front cross member, both front strut towers, full length strut tops, both front wing rail fillets, both front kick panels, both inner and outer sills all floor pans bot inner and outer wheel arches, lower rear scuttle panel, both inner and outer lower rear quarters, rear panel, small associated repairs as required. Fully sandblasted etch primed inside outside and underside roof repaired. Painted in signal yellow. all the work was done by me as a time served panel beater and experenced rally car builder.

Engine and transmission:

Ford RS2000 ohc engine fitted with alloy sump, uprated oil pump, steel crank, steel “long” con rods, custom cosworth short skirt pistons, decked block, ported and polished stage cylinder head fitted with a Kent rl32 cam kit and machined as required, ARP bolts throughout, 3d mappable ignition system, ralloy alloy radiator with sparco sport hoses, alloy quick release bellhouseing, quaife straight cut 5 speed pro gearbox, uprated prop-shaft, tranx 4.1 plate LSD fitted with group 4 side gears, tranx 2 piece group 4 shafts, strengthened axle casing. Rose jointed gear stick.

Tested at 180 bhp. twin weber 48 carbs on custom inlet manifold piper cross air filter, twin facet red top pumps filter king regulator, s/steel over braided fuel pipe ralloy alloy fuel tank.

Suspension group 4 cross member, group 4 billstine tarmac spec adjustable height front struts, alloy roller bearing top mounts, single leaf springs billstine rear dampers, adjustable ride height, rose jointed track arms, tarmac spec tension kit with arb, alloy large bearing hubs group 4 wheel studs quick rack, group 4 steering joint, alloy rack mounts.

Brakes ap forest spec 260mm discs on cp4567 callipers fronts, rear 240mm discs vented and grooved group 4 studs mintex race pads, bias pedal box hydraulic handbrake all brake line running inside car and s/steel over braided

Body fully seam welded and strengthened to ford type 49 spec and gusseted as required floor pan skidded six point roll cage group 4 sump guard anti tramp kit fitted.

Wheels 4 spoke 13” in diameter with group 4 inserts.

Additional modifications: 4 cibbie lights on quick release mounts, air horns, alloy catch tank, alloy passenger footrest, works style twin cowl dash and centre console, custom built lightweight wiring loom. Polycarbonate windows, carbon fibre door cards and rear quarter cards, helmet net, quick release steering wheel. Etb didgidash and data logger.
