Sellers original description:
1986 'D' Jaguar XJ6 2.9 Auto, 8600 miles from new.
A genuine "time warp" example, this car has covered just 8,600 miles from new and can only be described as like new throughout, quite honestly the car looks only a few months old. The Gunmetal Grey bodywork is unmarked, we are told the car has never been out in the rain and can well believe it. The interior condition is totally concurrent with the mileage, the Dark Grey Leather showing no signs of wear and the car still smells new inside. The underside of the vehicle is immaculate with no corrosion evident and the engine bay area still looks new, clearly a thoroughly pampered vehicle. This car really must be seen to be fully appreciated, even on our drive home we were drawing admiring glances and when we stopped for fuel we drew quite a large crowd of admirers on the motorway services. Needless to say the vehicle drives as good as it looks with no problems evident whatsoever.
Purchased directly from the elderly owner who used the vehicle only for car shows, the vehicle had been used only for car shows prior to his tenure, more often than not being transported to show rather than driven, winning several prizes along the way including Jaguar Drivers Club "Best Saloon" 2011 etc. We are lead to believe this is quite a well known vehicle on the classic car scene. Due to the failing health of his wife the car was no longer being used so the gentleman reluctantly decided to part with the car. The car was "SORN" for many years and was taken to car shows on a trailer, prior to that we have old MOT's for the car showing only 20 or 30 miles use per year, the car had covered 5,000 miles in 1990 and 7,000 miles in 2000 !
Specification includes Leather Upholstery, Original Stereo, Electric Sunroof, Remote Central Locking, Electric Windows front and rear, Electric Mirrors, unmarked Alloy Wheels with Dunlop SP Sport Tyres all round - these may well be the original Tyres ! Steering Wheel adjusts for height and reach.
This really is a unique opportunity, very likely to be the lowest mileage XJ40 in existence today. The car probably belongs in a museum although as a Sunday toy to be enjoyed on high days and Holidays it would be a real pleasure. Any Jaguar enthusiast, or classic car enthusiast for that matter, would be very proud to own this car.
