Owned and cherished since January 2001, but now it’s time to let her go to make way for a new Land Rover...

Only 7,000 Miles Since Complete Rebuild!

Every part bought new or professionally reconditioned!

The no. 1 vehicle for the bad weather we have been having recently!

Thousand of £££ spent, Fastidiously maintained regardless of cost

12 months MOT and Taxed until October next year

I have owned my Land Rover Series III for almost 10 years now and she has given flawless service since undergoing a complete and full restoration in 2002. Everything that needed to be replaced has been replaced with brand new parts (that’s most of the car) and the engine, gearbox, transfer box and running gear have gone through a complete strip down to the last nut and bolt and been rebuilt with new parts. This Land Rover therefore cannot be confused with old and shabby examples of the series that you see knocking about, but is a real collector’s item. Since restoration she has been garaged and only used to go to Land Rover events and the occasional trip out, as such she has only covered 7,000 flawless miles since restoration. She has only had 2 previous owners from new and during restoration a whole host of extras and improvements were done over standard, which I will detail below. If you are looking for a thoroughly sorted Series III then this is the one to have. I have used my 30 years experience with Land Rover's to make this one the very best it can be and I will be very sad to see her go, but I have just bought a brand new Defender so I need to say goodbye.

Engine and Running Gear:

The Engine, Gearbox, Steering, Axles, Suspension and Steering
all had a complete overhaul. Every part was stripped down to the last nut and bolt and rebuilt using brand new parts. Parabolic springs were fitted front and back onto brand new chassis, which was triple coated in Hammerite rust protector and then dark green Hammerite paint. Uniquely when putting back together I insisted on a 2" isolation lift (similar to the classic Range Rover) to reduce vibration and improve comfort and I have to say that the ride is one of the best of any series Land Rover I have driven.

Exterior:

Finished in classic Land Rover green, the exterior of the Land Rover also went through a complete re-spray 10 years ago also and is holding up very well. There is the occasional place where slight surface rust is coming through, but nothing at all that is serious and nothing that detracts from the overall original look of the Land Rover. During restoration she benefited from brand new doors and floor. Up front there is one year old Champion electric winch that has never been used (just in case) and on top there is a full length galvanised roof rack with ladder. Please see the photos for a close up image of the exterior, there are absolutely no unsightly dents on the exterior and a fully adjustable tow bar is fitted to the rear along with front tow hitch.

Interior:

The interior can only be described as immaculate throughout, the seats and carpets are all in superb condition having been replaced with new during restoration. The dashboard, steering wheel and the instruments are all original, but are also in immaculate condition and where one of the reason's I chose this land rover to restore as the dashboard's can be expensive to find in such good order. She has three seats up front and two bench's in the back suitable for 4 adults. All the keys are present and there is also a battery immobiliser fitted for security. I have also fitted a powerful interior light and everything works as it should including the wash/wipe , horn and all of the lights etc.

Underneath:

No oil leaks, no welding, nothing needing attention!

Conclusion:

I really do hope that this Land Rover goes to another enthusiast who will cherish and use her like I have, it has been a pleasure to own and drive and has given me many years of happiness and service.
