Sellers original description:

This classic Morris Minor 1000 Traveller has been subject to a full restoration to an extremely high standard.

It is only two owners from new being originally bought in May 1968 by a farmer in the small North Yorkshire town of Pateley Bridge who kept the car for 24 years until August 1992. The history file contains the original green log book from May 1968 showing this original ownership.

It was then bought from him by a classic car collector who lives 17 miles away in the town of Boroughbridge as a car for his wife to take to the shows that they attended. This collector then embarked on a ten year total restoration of the Minor to a standard that can only be described as exceptional.

The history file is filled with invoices that add up to over £17000 for the work and parts that the car received.

The car was stripped to a shell and professionally totally refurbished with new metal throughout by a Morris Minor specialist. It was then rustproofed and repainted in a wonderful classic shade of dark green.

It was then rebuilt from the ground up with the documentation file containing a series of photographs showing the process.

The woodwork was renewed completely and the car received a new wiring loom. The original engine was fully reconditioned and converted to run on unleaded fuel and a reconditioned gearbox was fitted along with a complete new clutch.

The original seats were refurbished to as new condition and the headlining renewed. The brakes and suspension were fully overhauled with the suspension receiving a telescopic shock absorber upgrade.

Since completion in 2002 the car has only covered 705 miles mainly being driven to shows where it has been a prize winner on more than one occasion and spending the rest of the time in a warm and dry integral garage.

It remains a credit to the owner's husband who painstakingly rebuilt it to such a wonderful standard and is now only for sale as the lady has retired from driving.

The MOT and Historic free road tax run until April 2014. The current mileage reading is 43563.

Morris Minor Travellers are a true investment for the future. Their values have increased substantially over the last decade as exceptional examples have become harder to find.
